Jay Elliot is a renowned technology executive and entrepreneur who has more than 30 years’ operations experience with such corporate giants as IBM, Intel and Apple Computer. After graduating from college, Mr. Elliot joined IBM as a programmer working on the airline reservation system and moved into management in several key projects in the Disk drive development business, and the development of the ATM system and eventually managed the company’s 16,000-employee software division as the Director of the IBM Santa Teresa software Laboratory. He then joined Intel as the site Director of California operations and worked with Gordon Moore, chairman of Intel to create the Intel Foundation.
Jay served as the Senior Vice President of Apple Computer responsible for all corporate operations, plus overall corporate business planning, reporting directly to Steve Jobs, Chairman of the Board, CEO, and co-founder of Apple. During his 6-year tenure at Apple sales grew from $150 million to more than $3 billion. He was also instrumental in guiding Steve Jobs to adopt the management principles that he had learned at IBM and Intel, which helped make Apple into a multibillion-dollar company.
After leaving Apple, Jay founded Migo Software, a mobility software company, and now, Parrot Health, an emergency medical apps software company. He has a wealth of experience in the entertainment industry, having produced the 1990 Academy Award-nominated documentary “Berkeley in the Sixties” and the NBC television series “Midnight Caller” as CEO of San Francisco Studios.
Jay has also written two books about his experience at Apple and working with Steve Jobs: “The Steve Jobs Way,” a worldwide bestseller with over 2 million copies sold in 40 countries and 50 languages and his second book “Leading Apple with Steve Jobs.” He holds degrees from San Jose State University and the University of California at Berkeley.
