Michael Cherry – Business Development & Co-Founder

Michael Cherry is the founder and active manager of the Cherry Family Office (CFO) and affiliated entities, overseeing a diversified portfolio of private and public investments in real estate and corporate securities. With 36 years of investment experience and the CFA designation, he has invested across the capital structure—from senior secured debt to public and private equity—through all stages of the corporate life cycle.

In 2011, Michael co-founded MCMG Management LLC, a private equity multifamily real-estate investment and property-management firm based in Pompano Beach, Florida. MCMG owns and/or manages a portfolio of 528 units, including two condominium associations, with assets exceeding $105 million. Previously, Michael spent 27 years as a senior Managing Director in institutional high-yield and distressed sales and leveraged-finance research at firms including Merrill Lynch, Credit Suisse, Bear Stearns, JP Morgan, and Jefferies. He advised leading asset managers and hedge funds representing more than $200 billion in dedicated high-yield and distressed strategies and was a trusted advisor on primary and secondary market financings totaling over $10 billion in annual trading volume. Through the Cherry Family Charitable Fund, he also supports environmental conservation and humanitarian causes. Michael holds a BSM in Finance from Tulane University’s Freeman School of Business and earned his CFA charter in 1992.
